What it is

An interview is a single customer and one or two people from your team on a call for thirty to sixty minutes. You set the objective and a loose agenda, and the conversation goes wherever the customer takes it. It is the fastest way to understand how one person actually works and why they made the choices they did.

When to use it

You are early in a problem and need to understand it before you design anything.
A customer has done something unexpected in the product and you want to hear the reasoning first hand.
You need depth on one account before a renewal, an expansion, or a rebuild of a workflow they depend on.
